Barbara Weitz is a renaissance woman. She’s a gifted teacher, a mother, a lifelong learner, a grandmother, and a community leader. As co-founder of the Weitz Family Foundation, Barbara has long been dedicated to finding innovative ways to help enrich individual lives and empower entire communities.
Having worked as a speechwriter in Minnesota, a director of Christian Education for a local Presbyterian congregation, and a Social Work professor at the University of Nebraska, she’s constantly seeking out new challenges. That same passion for education and interest in diversity of thought is what inspired her successful run for Regent of the University of Nebraska in 2018.
As a Regent, she’s an optimist, a straight shooter, a dreamer, and a realist. And no, these things are not mutually exclusive. Never one to shy away from tricky subjects, she understands that civil, smart, and creative conversations open doors to great ideas.
A firm believer that everyone deserves access to education, Barbara now lends her unique voice and perspective to ensure ongoing educational opportunities for Nebraskans of all ages. After all, the way that Barbara sees it, learning isn’t a commodity. It’s a necessity.
MEET THE TEAM

Joseph Frost
Strategist & Idea Guy, Frost Media Group Founder
Joe began pioneering video for new media in 2007, writing the book, New Media Habits,
and launching the first company to focus exclusively on new media video production in
Omaha, NE. It took him 6 years of trial and error to find the right niche in the sea of
social media – strategic video production for nonprofits; then 3 years of tinkering to develop a sustainable business model – Frost Media Group; and less than a year to prove it worked in other markets – St. Louis and Kansas City.
He also founded yorCMO to provide fractional CMO services to organizations looking to turn marketing into sales; and for CMOs looking to go out on their own, but not alone.
